A Space Transportation Company
Dawn Aerospace is building a scalable, sustainable space transportation network with the frequency and reliability of aviation, to seamlessly connect the Earth and space economies.

A core belief around the value of space. We don't know what will be the killer application, but only that they will need to get to space, and maneuver around in it.

OVERVIEW
Our Founding Story
Dawn Aerospace was founded in 2017 by Stefan Powell, Jeroen Wink, James Powell, Robert Werner and Tobias Knop, with a shared vision to scale space mobility.
With strong roots in Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and deep ties to New Zealand’s Civil Aviation Authority and aircraft certification ecosystem, the founding team brought together expertise in propulsion, aircraft design, and regulatory navigation.
From those beginnings, Dawn has grown into a global effort — with 130+ people work across the Netherlands, New Zealand, France and the USA, flown its spaceplane supersonic in 2024 to 82,000 ft, and had over 100 of its thrusters launched into orbit.

From our founding vision to today’s milestones, the thread remains the same: reliability, reusability, and scalability as the path to making space truly accessible.
